The Center of National Level Technology of Qingdao Eastup Group is the important implementer of the group technology strategy, aimed at accelerated development. Founded in 1996, the center was designated as a technology center of national level by the State Economic and Trade Commission, Ministry of Finance, State Administration of Taxation and the State Customs General Administration. In 2002, the center was approved by the Ministry of Personnel to establish a working-station for post-doctorate.

As a national technology center, it has set up a scientific, speedy and efficient operational mechanism, is staffed with a competent and innovative technological team and empowered with the research and development platform of national and world level, has established information achievement room, the steel tire room, the half-steel tire room, the diagonal tire room, the market analysis room, the chemistry experiment room, the physics experimenting room and the finished product experimenting room equipped with advanced software and hardware facilities.

Being a scientific and technologic research and development base for Qingdao Eastup Group, the objectives of the center are to launch tire basic principle research of world level, set up R & D center for application technology and new products, and integrate scientific research resources of the group, the country and the world, so as to serve the target of the group in achieving an accelerated development and attaining the status of high tech enterprise in both national and global arena.

As a scientific and technological research and development base for the group, the center has the responsibilities of providing evidence for decision makers of the group by tracking and analyzing directions and trends of tire manufacturing technology research and development, meeting the needs of products structural adjustment by researching and developing new technologies, research and development of new products and material application, improving the competitiveness of products by increasing added value of science and technology, inaugurating the establishment of technological standards for tire industry so as to own the tire manufacturing technological standards in China, and providing sufficient technological support for the core competitiveness of the group by integrating technological resources and improving capacities of self innovation.

In recent years, in order to meet the challenge of technology revolution in post tire industrial era, the Group has increased inputs in scientific research. The center, based upon market needs, strengthened research and development of new technology, new products, new craft and new material application, transformed traditional technology by introducing new technology, and accelerated the commercialization process of technological research and development results.
